The National Housing Bank (NHB), through its policies, has supported promotion of a sound, healthy, viable and cost effective housing finance system that will cater to all segments of the population. Through this Citizens' Charter, we seek to bring ourselves and our activities closer to our customers, clients and other stakeholders and partners in the industry. The Charter is reinforced by our Vision, Mission and among other things, our commitment and responsibilities towards the mandate given to the National Housing Bank.

The Citizens’ Charter is driven by the needs of the people and their demand on us to fulfil their expectations. We duly recognise the need for retaining sufficient flexibility to accommodate ever changing market realities and social and financial sector dynamics.

We are open to suggestions from members of public and other stakeholders that will help us better serve our Charter, consistent with the mandate as enshrined in the NHB Act, 1987.

We wish to acknowledge guidance and support of the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, the Ministry of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for encouraging us to bring out this Charter that has also enriched our Vision.
