The National Housing Bank being satisfied that, in the public interest it is necessary so to do, hereby in exercise of the powers conferred on it by sections 30A and 31 of the National Housing Bank Act, 1987 (53 of 1987) and all the powers enabling it in this behalf, directs that the Housing Finance Companies (NHB) Directions, 2001 shall with immediate effect, be further amended in the following manner, namely:-

I. Under the instructions “General “ for filling and submission of the return Schedule I (Annual Return) in Housing Finance Companies (NHB) Directions, 200,1 for paragraph 1, the following shall be substituted, namely:-

“1. The return after compilation, should be submitted by a housing finance company once a year as early as possible after March 31 and latest by June 30 with reference to its position as on March 31 irrespective of the date of closing of the financial year of the company, to the Head office of the National Housing Bank, New Delhi as specified in paragraph 40 of the Housing Finance Companies (NHB) Directions, 2001. A certificate from the auditors of the company as required in terms of paragraph 38 of the Notification should be appended to the return.”

II. Under the heading “SCHEDULE II” (Half-Yearly Return as on March 31/September 30, ) of the Housing Finance Companies (NHB) Directions, 2001 the instruction reading “(To be submitted within two months from close of the half year)” shall be substituted, namely:-

“(To be submitted within 6 weeks from close of the half year)”
